Have you been stung lately with life? Maybe your marriage is going through some bumps and pain. Maybe you got hit hard in your business. Your doctor recently said, “ The test results weren't what we'd hoped for. ”
We know that the honeybee has a stinger? But we also realize the same bee produces “Sweet Honey.” That’s a lot like this journey in life. From time to time, we get stung by difficulties, setbacks and even our own dumb blunders in life. But the apostle Paul declares, 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
He didn’t say that everything would work out because we always get it right. That’s not reality. He remembers that we are dust. Confess like Paul who experienced his own bumps in the road and vicissitudes in life.
38 And I am convinced that “nothing” can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. ( Romans 8:38-39)
Go ahead friend, “SMILE TODAY.” Don’t wait for the pain to end to enjoy the journey. God is for you and is working out your future in ways that you can’t even imagine. “And we know that all things work together for the good to them who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
So what's the takeaway? Focus on the honey. Focus on “the good today” and what God has on the way. “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. (Eccl 7:8)
