Distracted?

Many people live out there life disoriented, disjointed, discombobulated, and torn over so many things going on in their life. Dealing with oxymoron's and the rubik's cubes of life. Horizontal happiness without God doesn't work. A man never seems to earn enough, gadgets are never modern enough, and life is never full enough.
It's easy to fall into the trap like Martha, busy in the kitchen of life, upset with her sister Mary who was sitting at the feet of Jesus. The Lord said to her, "Martha chill out for one thing is needed and Mary hath chosen the better part." (Luke 10: 38-42)

Keeping your priorities in order can be a challenge for each of us. Jesus said there are two things that you must do in this life, "Love God and Love people."

Satisfaction comes when we step off the escalator of desire from the horizontal and reach up to God who can fill our emptiness and void.
"The sensual lure of something better tomorrow robs us of the joys offered today." Chuck Swindoll. God wants to speak to our heart now, turn off what's coming up tomorrow and enjoy the moment of His words right now.

Martha was so worried and concerned about all that she had to get done at the moment but Jesus was saying, "Martha your sister Mary got it right." She is looking up to me before she gets to busy trying to do all she needs to get done.

Mary was sitting at the feet of Jesus, listening to his instructions, while Martha was upset in the kitchen. It's not always easy to take time and chill out and sit at Christ feet and look up to Him to see what He has in mind for the day and your life. So many things will pull at you, your work, family, money matters, the leaky roof, the toilets keeps sticking and so on it goes. We question why are we loosing, why are we so far behind?

Unless you sit at His feet first, dude you will be so fragmented, disjointed confused as a bedbug trying to navigate your way down the field of life.

Bob Gass shares a story of a football team that was losing badly. Pointing to the captain, their coach on the sidelines kept shouting, "Give the ball to Calhoun! Give the ball to Calhoun!" Fed up and frustrated, the captain finally shouted back, "Coach, Calhoun doesn't want the ball."

Could it be that God is trying to get our attention, and give us the ball to succeed but we are too preoccupied with our own agenda, and our thinking and plans? Until you look up to Jesus like Mary, you will be all flustered and frustrated in the kitchen like Martha.

Until you discipline your life to spend time with the master, you will continue to live agitated and aggravated with your navigation in life. I'm convinced God has the right play ready to be sent in to our busy huddle of life and we must take time to listen before will ever reach across the goal line of victory.

Remember Jesus said there are two things to do with your life, "Love God and Love people. Have you looked up today to see what He is saying? Are you following the play He has sent in for your win?
