What Will Overshadow Your Life This New Year?

Luke 1:35  And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.

Over the years, there have been many doubters and scoffers concerning the validity of the birth of Christ. Theologians and pastors have been tripped up with the notion that Mary really didn't conceive the Christ through the Holy Spirit.

Friend, if the virgin birth of Christ is a lie, then it's all a lie. I choose to believe that if God can open the red sea, and blow a whole five miles wide and get millions of Jews through it, if God can deliver 3 Hebrew men from a fiery furnace without the smell of smoke on them, and if God can lock the jaws of lions for Daniel, what's the notion that God can't bring our Lord Jesus through a virgin Mary?

The real question you must ask yourself is, what will overshadow my life this New Year? It's easy to be overshadowed with your pasts, your blunders, your doubts, discouragement, defeat, fear and deception, questions about your hurts, and the oxymoron's of life. Some things may never make sense.

The word states that the angel of the Lord said to Mary,"Thou hast found favor with God and thou shalt conceive a child and bring forth the Son of God."

Mary has got to be saying to herself, "How can this be since I know not a man, the angle says, the Holy Spirit will come and overshadow you and thou will bear a son." Here is the bottom line, that is exactly what happens, Mary conceived and brought forth the living Son of God Immanuel, God is with us.

Will you be overshadowed this year with your doubts, your questions, your misunderstandings with life and God, will you choose to get bogged down in the quagmire of being discouraged over your past? Mary chose to believe and the Holy Spirit overshadowed her and she brought forth the Son of the living God.

Paul said; "Forgetting those things that are behind and reaching forth unto those things that are before us." What will you choose to overshadow your life, your mind your thoughts, your heart? What will you allow to conceive in your spirit this New Year?
