Life Is In The Blood

Exodus 12:1-51
Pharaoh would now let the people of God go. He had hardened his heart till the last plague would come to his own household. There would be a cry that night heard all over Egypt because of a man who had hardened his heart and refuse to listen to God. Death would come and knock at each door in Egypt. There the first-born would die. 

The firstborn of Egypt would be taken. The grip of death would come to each home, upon ever firstborn animal. God instructs Moses a plan in order to escape the death angle that would come. "You are to instruct each household to take a lamb for their home before the death angle passes over the land." 

"You are to prepare that lamb and roast it the night of the Passover, then take the blood and place it over the door post of your home. When the death angles moves by, "when I see the blood I will pass over you."

To this day the Israelites keep this day as a great moment of remembrance, a great day of deliverance. 

The big question for each of us is have we too accepted the significance of this day? 2000 years ago Christ Jesus came as the perfect Lamb of God and sacrificed his own blood on the cross for our sins. 

Symbolically we too need to have the blood applied to the doorpost of our own hearts. One day the death angle is going to pass over each of us. The only thing that will make us ready for heaven is, when God sees the blood, He will pass over us. There is life in the blood. No one lived that night without the blood from the lamb being placed over the door. These bodies will die, but there is a second life that will live on and on.

When you are judged and stand before God, the only thing that will get you to heaven is not your position in the church, not the money you give to help the poor, the broken, not the funds you have given to build churches overseas. 

The only reason that you will make heaven your home is you have ask Christ Jesus to forgive you of your sins. It's His blood that removes our sins from us as far as the east is from the west, never to be remembered again.

Have you placed the blood over the doorpost of your heart? If not accept Christ as your Lord and allow His blood to cleanse and forgive you of your sins. Rejoice today that there is Life in the Blood.
