Who Wins In Divorce? (2)

Exodus 15:22-29  Matthew 19:3-12

One of the most incredible days in life is to get married to your new bride or groom on your wedding day. Next the honeymoon, O yea what a celebration in getting started with this new person you want to live with the rest of your life.

I don't believe anybody ever plans on anything less than an oasis in your new relationship. No one really expects things down the road to end up in a divorce court. But we all know there have been those over the years who have experience the bitter waters of Marah in their marriage.

In Exodus, Israel had just won victoriously over the Egyptians, they watched God defeat and drown them in the Red Sea. Miriam is leading a great celebration with her tambourine, but 3 days later they came to the bitter waters of Marah. They began to whine and complain; "were going to die, what are we going to drink now?"

The percentages show better than 50% get divorced from their marriage. Is it possible to overcome this bitter pill in life? Can one get pass this bitter Marah experience? God shows Moses a tree in their bitter situation, he cast it in the waters and the waters are made sweet. The answer to all of our confusion and hurt in broken relationships is found in the tree, the old rugged that Jesus died on 2000 years ago.

There is an answer, there is a healing, and there is a tree that can make the bitter waters sweet.  If will stop long enough to wait and listen to God. Moses did what God instructed him to do and the solution came for their dilemma. The people would have died of thirst, unless God had of showed up with a miracle.

You don't have to allow your marriage to die if you will look to God for your healing in your relationship. The bitter waters would have never been healed without God's intervention. No one person can fix your quagmire. The nightmare is too dark for you to handle on your own.

If God made the bitter waters sweet for Israel, He can do it again for you. Get up; press on to your Elim. Watch there is an Oasis just beyond your own Marah. Will answer in part 3, "Is There Delight beyond your discouragement?"
